GOD’S LOVE

We are told that God always was and always will be. For now, we must believe this is so and if it is not so, what difference would it make? How does it affect our lives? Knowing this answer would be tremendous knowledge to obtain but our lives would not change for the knowing. Someday, when we have progressed far enough to be reunited with Him, we will have our answer. Of all the questions, which we may have on our journey back to God, this is likely the one, which will take the longest time to discover.

As we progress, we will feel God all around us, the more we progress, the nearer we will come to Him and the more we will feel his presence, for God is Love. He does not only love, He is Love. It is a scientific fact just as we learn of the laws of nature, for example: the law of gravity, the law of condensation. the law of magnetism, the law of karma, the law of love.

The old song "Love Makes the World go Round", is actually true. People are their happiest when they are in love; with a mate, a parent, a child, a friend and eventually with God. Look at the condition of an unloved person. An unloved baby soon dies or is mentally or emotionally crippled for life. If we do not receive love we cannot give it, the reverse is true. If we do not learn to love others we will be alone for no one will love us.

So here is the magic solution to being happy. Even if no one loves us, and we love no one, not even ourselves, we might make an attempt to understand that we are always loved by God no matter who we are or what we do. God is love itself and can do nothing else but love. God is incapable of anything but to love. Let us not bring Him down to our level and attribute to God our sorry human emotions.

Look at the sun, a huge ball of fire, very hot, always hot. The sun cannot decide one day to become cold (not unless God wills it). Think of God in this way, a big something of love, always love, unable to hate. Just as you enjoy basking in the sun’s warmth, learn to bask in God's love. You will make your life so easy, you will need no one else.

GOD AND SCIENCE

Many people who say they do not believe in God think that those who do are living in a fairy tale world - Alice in Wonderland. To them the Christian precepts make no sense: Pray and God will give you what you wish for, be good and you will go to heaven, misbehave and you will be punished. It is much more intelligent to think scientifically.

As a scientific person, facts are facts; emotions do not enter into the understanding of our lives. All that praying, wishing, fearing etc. is all a waste of time and energy. If there were a God, we should be able to see Him, hear Him or have some proof of His existence by the results of His power. We cannot believe in something we cannot see, so until we have proof, we do not believe.

Science shows cause and effect. The law of gravity is real, otherwise we and everything around us would float aimlessly somewhere. The sun causes water to evaporate creating clouds which return to earth in the form of rain, snow etc. this is scientific. Matter has molecules that can be made to move so as to create different formations, this is scientific. Humans have DNA that can be manipulated to create new body parts or even a complete new human, this is scientific.

So, we either believe in God or we believe in science. Christians say, "God always was, so what about science, did it always exist? Where did it come from? What is the purpose of gravity, condensation, molecules, DNA? For what purpose does it all exist? Without DNA there would be no man, so who would need all the scientific facts that we have discovered? And why do we say that we have discovered a new scientific fact, why don ‘t we say we have created it?

Could it be that we are unable to create anything at all? Could it be that it was all created for us and all we can do is discover it and manipulate it? So, should we believe in science only or should we believe in God as well? Could it be that the two are not at odds with each other and if we search, could we perhaps discover that God is very scientific?

 Prayer

When do we remember to pray and what do we usually pray for? Do we think to pray when life is going smoothly? Do we even think of God at those times, or do we call out for help when we are going through a rough patch in our lives? If we could record the sound of our prayers might we sound like this: " Oh God, please, please, please help me", followed by our particular request. If the stakes are high, do we find ourselves attempting to strike a bargain with God? We have all prayed in this way and then we decided how deep our faith should be depending on whether or not our prayer was answered and to what degree.

Since not all of our prayers are answered according to our wishes, why do we bother to pray at all? Should we play Russian Roulette and throw out our prayers and hope that some of them are answered, which is better than none at all?

How would it be if we learned to pray and have our prayers answered one hundred per cent of the time? If we prayed for the sensible needs in our life, this could happen.

We are on this earth to learn and to grow spiritually. Our best lessons of life are taught us during our most difficult times. Good times are desirable and enjoyable, life need not be all lessons but without the trying times, we should learn nothing at all. God knows which lessons each of us are required to learn to earn our salvation.

Think of life as an obstacle course, some parts of the course are simple and then we must exert ourselves to get through the obstacles to reach the end of the course and receive our prize. If we picture our lives as an obstacle course and were to ask for help to succeed what would we ask for? Would we not ask for strength, perseverance, patience, knowledge or anything else which would assist us?

To get through life and claim our prize at its end, it would behoove us to ask for such assistance. God does not hesitate to send his angels to fortify us when our strength wanes. Let us not forget that we still must negotiate the obstacles course, God cannot do it for us, but He will not fail to grant us our prize at our success.

 Moving On

When we were children, we sometimes grew so rapidly that we had to set aside our outgrown clothing. Often our growth spurt was so rapid that our clothing had been hardly worn. There was nothing wrong with the clothing, only that we had outgrown it.

In our lives, our spiritual growth sometimes takes a forward leap and suddenly the people we spent so much time with seem to have changed. The conversations are not as interesting, the shared activities are not as challenging and we even begin to find fault with them.

When we encounter these feelings we need to recognize that we have outgrown these friends. They are the same as before, there is nothing wrong with them and we have not failed them, so the best thing to do is to move on.

There is no need to announce that we have outgrown them spiritually nor is there any need to worry about how they will feel when we move on. We may not have to do anything at all. The separation will happen all on its own. We will start noticing that they suddenly have new responsibilities because of a change in their family make-up or they must now work longer hours etc.

God knows what we need and will provide it for us, even it is to give us freedom from other people and especially if the reason is to further our spiritual development.

So we must stay in touch with our spirit guides and follow their suggestions. Let us not try to hold on to people because of a sense of duty or responsibility. They need their freedom to move away from us also.

  Inquiring of the Dead

The bible tells us that we should not "inquire of the dead". What can this mean? We are not to inquire of anyone who does not have a physical body?

What if we have questions and are unable to find anyone on earth to give us satisfactory answers, then where may we go? Yes, we can search the libraries, but how may books might we read and still not find any book with the answers? Who is the most qualified to have the answers? Well, God, of course is the one who knows everything and yes in the bible God says "Ask me of things to come. But we don’t know God personally, so must we wait until we reach heaven to get our answers?

Has anyone inquired of God and received answers? Yes, the bible relates story after story of people who inquired of God and received answers. How did God answer? He sent a messenger. Was the messenger in human form or an alien from outer space? The messenger was an angel, a spirit who brought the answers. But wait, are we now receiving answers from the dead? These angels or spirits had no earthly body; as a matter of fact, God does not have an earthly body either.

Perhaps "inquiring of the dead" does not mean lacking an earthly body. Perhaps it means anyone with or without an earthly body who is spiritually dead. And who might that be? We know that Satan does not have spiritual life and we would never dream of asking him for any answers, and since he has his own entourage, we would not inquire of any of them either. Who are these spirits or people in Satan’s entourage? Anyone who is not interested in relaying messages from God.

We should expect that any message from God would be concerning things which affect our spiritual life. Would information regarding our fame or fortune qualify as information relating to the advancement of our spiritual life; Who do we know who will willingly tell us all about our romance, riches etc. for a small fee?

So now we are back to finding a way to receive our answers. Like the people in biblical days, we can inquire of God and have his spirits give us our answers. So now our search must be for a method by which we can communicate with God’s spirit world. God says "Seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened". When we truly are searching, the answers will come in the form of people, books etc. and they may arrive in the most unexpected ways such as gifts of clairaudience or clairvoyance. So, searching in earnest is the way to get our answers, being open to the many ways that God has made available to us, not only in biblical times but right now.
