HAPPINESS

True happiness comes from the spirit, the soul, and not from any external source. Knowing that your soul is right with God helps you to enjoy God’s blessings and there are many; the most enjoyable being the ability to communicate with the spirits of God to learn new truths and join in their happiness.

The world has nothing lasting to bring you happiness. No one person can make you happy and nothing you own is of any consequence. You may find enjoyment for the short term in people and things but sooner or later all will lose its luster and you will again be searching for someone or something to bring back the enjoyment.

Lasting happiness can only be found with God and can only be enjoyed by the soul, the spirit. This happiness will expand to touch every part of your life and you will be forced to admit that the earth and all earthly things have lost their luster for you.

RAISING CHILDREN

Raise up your children to know God. Teach them of a loving God and not a punishing God. True, they should understand that there is punishment or rather discipline to place them back on the right path when they have meandered or disobeyed God’s laws. But teach them that God’s laws are there only to guide them in order to keep them from harming themselves and others.

As parents, you teach your children to avoid certain dangers that could harm them physically, so too God’s laws are there to teach them the dangers that would harm their spirits.

You also teach them that there are consequences for their actions, rewards for the good and punishment for the bad. But all of this you do in love in order to protect them from making mistakes that will cost them. God’s laws also teach consequences, such as the fact that God will forgive us our sins in the same measure that we forgive those who have sinned against us.
